Welcome to the Furniture Capital of New England and the rich heritage of fine craftsmanship that is native to the area. Settled in the early 1700's, the greater Gardner area attracted fine wood workers from around the world.
In 1805 chair making began in the city of Gardner, which became known as the "Chair City of the World". Winchendon became historically known as "Toy Town" for their fine craftsmanship. Today, Gardner, Templeton and Winchendon are famous both for world class workmanship and for their four Factory Outlets (6 showrooms) which attract thousands of value conscious furniture buyers from all over New England every year.
